ABOUT RORY
Rory the Lion represents the spirit of Win Win Charity—spreading smiles, laughter, and hope through visits from entertainers, athletes, and special guests who lift spirits in hospitals across the country.
But Rory also represents something even more powerful: the strength and bravery we see every day in patients, families, child life specialists, and hospital staff.
Every hug, every photo, every shared moment with Rory is a reminder that, even in difficult moments, joy and connection are possible.
Together, we can do incredible things—and Rory helps us celebrate that.
Ways to Bring Rory to Life at Your Hospital
Rory is meant to be playful, visible, and part of the hospital community. Here are a few fun ways Child Life teams and staff can bring Rory into everyday moments:
Lion Adventures
Take photos of Rory visiting different hospital departments or joining activities throughout the hospital. These make wonderful social media posts for your hospital — and Win Win Charity would love to share them too!
Procedure Prep
Let Rory help children feel more comfortable before procedures. Photos of Rory getting a CT scan, X-ray, or other test can be used in preparation materials to help patients understand what to expect.
Spot the Lion
Create a weekly game where kids and staff try to find where Rory is hiding around the hospital. Think “Elf on the Shelf”… but with a lot more courage and heart!
Inspiration Station
Celebrate acts of kindness and bravery. Create a photo wall where patients and staff take pictures with Rory when they are recognized for spreading strength, courage, and joy.
Staff Meeting Mascot
Child Life Specialists and hospital teams give so much to others every day. Bring Rory to staff meetings as a fun reminder that they are strong too.
